Another pitcher's duel resulted in a shutout against Chicago, as Johnny Schmitz falls to 0-2 despite a 1.53 ERA. Claude Corbitt was the only player to score in the game, doing so twice after reaching base in all four of his plate appearances. Ken Raffensberger held the Cubs to just six hits and did not allow a walk for the shutout victory.
