American League Update: April 28th

American League Update

April 28, 1948

Even without Ted Williams in the lineup, Boston easily swept Washington in a two-game series with a combined score of 11-1. Moving out to left field to replace Williams was newly acquired Stan Spence, who went 4-for-7 with a double and two walks. With the two wins, the Red Sox are back out of the basement in the American League.
